According to my calculations, the forum has been locked for two hours and ten minutes. Joe's update about the lockdown came at 8:50 pm his time. It is 11 pm Joe's time now.

He says it could be an issue with the DNS server of your ISP not updating the ip registry. Could take up to 12 hours!

Hi. Joe here. It's almost midnight and I'm off to bed. The migration is happening. If you see a comment by me in Site Changes saying "f you can read this, congratulations! You're looking at the new server", well, you're looking at the new server. The forum should also be back open for business. I'm keeping the old one closed but the new one open. That's the easiest way to ensure I don't lose anything. It can take a while for DNS (domain name service) records to update around the world. ISPs typically cache them for anything from a few minutes to a day or so. You can monitor the change here: www.nexcess.net/resources/tools/global-dns-checker/?h=beatlesbible.com&t=AThe old server was 72.44.89.46, the new one is 209.188.83.14. When everything goes to the new number everybody (with a few possible laggards) should be back in. See you tomorrow, hopefully. |

As of 1:30 am Joe's time 4 out of 25 places had the new address: Seattle (yay Bungalow Bob), Overland Park, Kansas (next door to me), Saudia Arabia, and Hanoi, Vietnam.

Last post for tonight.
As of 2:10 am Joe's time, we have added Mountain View, California, Berlin, and Brazil to the list of updated places. This is like that Santa tracker they have on Christmas eve and the news coverage of New Year's celebrations across the globe.
Here's hoping the remainder of the migration goes successfully and that there isn't much clean up for Joe to deal with in the aftermath.
